Boudreaux's Butt Paste: Best Friend for Your Baby's Bottom! $100 Visa Giftcard #Giveaway

While attending BlogHer’13, I was provided the opportunity to meet with George Boudreaux, the founder of Boudreaux’s Butt Paste.  I am sure many of you are familiar with Butt Paste, as it is now one of the most widely used diaper creams in the marketplace.   Personally, my experience with Boudreaux’s has been wonderful!  Little A was constantly plagued from diaper rashes since birth and we have tried nearly every product on the mass market shelves.  There are few and far between that I can find in stores that work on her and one of those happens to be Boudreaux’s!  So I couldn’t wait to meet the founder and learn more about how this product began and grew to be loved by so many.

How it All Began

As you can read on the website, George is a pharmacist and he was struggling to find the perfect diaper cream for his little ones on the shelves of his pharmacy, so he decided to work on creating his own.  After a while, he found the perfect formula and it was a hit!  It worked better than anything available to his customers and he was able to help so many parents who came in looking for one that truly worked.

Early Success Story

George recounted his favorite story from the beginning of a young mother who had called him after several days of her baby having a rash so bad that the baby hadn’t slept much in days and just cried constantly.  She had called George to thank him for his “Butt Paste” because immediately after putting it on her little one’s bottom, the baby fell fast asleep and stayed asleep so long that the mother got worried the baby had stopped breathing.  Upon finding everything was okay, she peeked in the diaper and the rash was gone!

Working Hard for Success

I asked George how he grew the brand from his small pharmacy to the mass market.  He told me that it wasn’t easy and involved him literally hitting the streets with this product.  He said that he went up to the largest wholesaler market at the time (NY, NJ, DE area) and met with tons of wholesalers telling them about his product and asking if they were interested in carrying it.  He had also sent out products to all of the major TV personalities of the time (i.e. Jay Leno) for them to try and possibly air on their show.  Unfortunately every wholesaler in the area turned him down, saying they didn’t need a product just like they already offered their customers.  This was their biggest mistake, as shortly thereafter he was told by a friend to turn on the NBC Today show, hosted by Al Roker on a certain morning.   As he was watching the show, suddenly a woman brought in a sign with his company’s name and a tube of Butt Paste to Al and said he had to have this stuff for his new baby as it was the best diaper cream.  Al then turned to the camera and said “Boudreaux’s Butt Paste!  Go out and get yours today!”  George said he had no idea who this woman was, but that immediately his phone was ringing off the hook and every wholesaler “HAD to have that Butt Paste!” It was George’s tenacity and gorilla marketing that skyrocketed his company and product to the mass market and shelves everywhere today!

Loyalty at Its Finest

George expressed to me that although every wholesaler wanted his product immediately, he always was sure to not accept a single order to a new wholesaler who had originally turned him down until he fulfilled those that had been loyal since the beginning.  To me, this shows that this product and company was built on integrity and loyalty to not only their customers but also their business as a whole!

Recap

Overall, my chats with George were really wonderful!  I learned how such a personable and kind man created a product (and company) based on trust, loyalty, and honesty and combine that with his strong work-ethic to persevere and become a huge success! I just love a story that starts with a dream and ends with success.

I leave you with the piece of advice George gave me that helped him succeed: “Always under-promise and over-deliver.  Otherwise, your integrity in the marketplace will be lost and that’s something will be nearly impossible to recover.”

Want to learn more about this wonderful company and their products?  You can find information about their entire product and search for a retailer near you who carries them by visiting the Boudreaux's website. Be sure to connect with them on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date on your baby's bottom's new best friend!
As a thank you from Boudreaux's for taking the time to meet with George, I was sent an awesome basket of goodies.  The basket included a full size tube of Boudreaux's Butt Paste (yay!), plus the following wonderful baby essentials!
Boudreaux's Baby Kisses: This moisturizer is a must-have for our little ones, especially during those tough winter months when they are plagued by dry lips and cheeks.
Sophie the Giraffe Teether: Great for little ones to hold and chew on during those painful teething moments.
Infantino Park Place Changing Pad and Playplace: Great for you to take on the go and keep your baby safe and clean while changing or playing. Fits perfectly in your diaper bag.
Purell Refreshing Gel: Great for on the go sanitizing of hands to keep you and your baby free of germs.
Wet Ones Sensitive Skin: I always keep a package of these in the car as they are great for quick cleanups of little hands.

Thank you again to Boudreaux’s Butt Paste, George Boudreaux and BlogHer for providing me this opportunity.  I will definitely remember it for a lifetime!

  1. My 10 year old son laughs whenever he sees "butt paste". He's going through a potty humor phase, which may never end because my husband cracks up over it, too.

  121. My son had a very bad diaper rash. We tried everything and it would not get better. Someone told us about butt paste so we picked up some and tried it. Within a day he was cleared up. From then on that is all we used
