Arlington, VA – January 20, 2014 – PBS Distribution today announced it is releasing  “DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD: Daniel’s Big Feelings” and “DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD: Life’s Little Lessons” for the first time on DVD. The first TV series inspired by the iconic, award-winning Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood from The Fred Rogers Company stars 4-year-old Daniel Tiger, son of the original program’s Daniel Striped Tiger, who invites young viewers into his world, giving them a kid’s-eye view of his life. As they closely follow and share Daniel’s everyday adventures, preschoolers ages 2-4 and their families learn fun and practical strategies and skills necessary for growing and learning. Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood airs Monday- Friday on PBS KIDS.  Each DVD will contain eight engaging episodes featuring what Fred Rogers knew all along: social and emotional competencies are the building blocks of doing well in school and in life.  Both “DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD: Daniel’s Big Feelings” and “DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD: Life’s Little Lessons” each have an approximate running time of
100 minutes.  As an added bonus, “DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD: Daniel’s Big Feelings” contains two bonus episodes, with a combined approximate running time of 25 minutes. Each DVD has a suggested retail price of $12.99. The DVDs will also join other newly released “DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD” merchandise, including five new books from Simon Spotlight  and Tigertastic toys from Jakks Pacific.

Daniel starts his day by donning his red sweater, tying his sneakers and inviting his preschool pals at home into the bright and lively Neighborhood of Make-Believe.  Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood features the next generation
of the original characters from Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. Daniel’s best friend is O the Owl, who lives with his Uncle X in the tree next door to Katerina Kittycat, daughter of Henrietta Pussycat. Daniel also loves to visit Prince Wednesday, the youngest member of the royal family headed by King Friday, in his castle; and Miss Elaina, who lives with her parents, Lady Elaine Fairchilde and Music Man Stan, in the Museum-Go-Round. The familiar red trolley “ding dings” its way all around the Neighborhood.

S.M.M. Review

Upon putting the DVD in, I was brought back to my childhood and the countless times I watched Mr Roger's Neighborhood! The kids immediately fell in love with Daniel Tiger! He's like a new age Mr. Rogers! The kids sat and interacted with Daniel as he explored his neighborhood and learned important lessons. Little A. really loved his trolley and Big N. likes the castle and the king best! Admittedly, I love watching him too, because of all the nostalgia! I even catch myself singing the "It's Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood" song throughout the day!

If you haven't seen Daniel Tiger, I highly recommend checking him out! He teaches children lessons while use proper grammar and exploring his neighborhood! It's the perfect show for toddlers and preschoolers!
