One of my favorite things about summer are the backyard BBQs and all the fun, food and friends that they include! One of our family favorite backyard games is Ring Toss. I know, it's one that everyone has likely played once in their lives and likely you are already thinking it sounds boring. However, this simple game for all ages can be made with tons of different materials and in tons of different ways to bring new fun and excitement to this very traditional outdoor game.
We have a wooden ring toss set that has rope rings. It works great for us as the kids can take it assemble/disassemble it very easily without much assistance.
After perusing Pinterest for ring toss ideas there are so many fun DIY variations! Above is one pictured using water bottles and pool diving rings!
Supplies: Plastic (filled) water bottles
Colored Pool Diving Rings
Colored Duct Tape (or labels)
Marker
Directions: Cover water bottle labels with solid colored duct tape or labels. Put different number values (i.e. 5, 10, 20, 25) onto the water bottles with the magic marker. Then set the bottles out on a flat level surface spaced 6 or so inches apart. Throw pool rings and attempt to get them around the bottles. You can split up into teams or do it individually.
So fun! I have created a new board on Pinterest called Outdoor Games where you can see the many versions of this game and many other games perfect for your next outdoor BBQ!
Now that you have a fun game to play, make sure you enter the giveaway below to win some perfect items for hosting a backyard BBQ!
