Rooibos Tea

There is a new super-beverage in town, and its name is rooibos.  The herbal tea called rooibos (pronounced ROY-boss), also referred to as “red tea”, is becoming quite popular in Western countries, particularly among health-conscious consumers.  The Rooibos plant is a South African flowering bush used to make a mild-tasting tea that is naturally caffeine free, has very little tannin, and significant amounts of polyphenol anti-oxidants.

Rooibos tea contains an abundance of the antioxidant enzyme called Superoxide Dismutase.  SOD helps in prevention of oxidative damage to cells, providing a potentially powerful ally in the fight against cancer.  Red rooibos tea is the best for all those who care for their health and fitness.  Beneficial factors related to red rooibos are anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-mutagenic and anti-spasmodic.

We crave research on exotic superfoods and rooibos met our needs.  A no caffeine and no calorie herbal tea met the strict guidelines we follow at Dr. B’s to create beverages only from their natural state.

Sugar-Free Sweetness

We sweeten Dr. B’s Tea without the use of sugar. Instead, we use a 100% birchwood Xylitol and a deliciously sweet super fruit called Monk Fruit.

SMM Review:

As you may or may not be aware, I have a sensitivity to caffeine, but a huge love for iced tea!  This combination is a difficult one as most companies that you find in supermarkets don't make a decaf iced tea which leaves me stuck making my own at home.  So, as you can imagine, I was thrilled to be able to try out Dr. B's Tea, as it is naturally decaffeinated!
For my review I received a 6 bottle sample pack containing one of each of their unique flavor varieties. I started out by trying the Original flavor and was blown away by the taste!  The tea was very smooth and tasted just like my favorite sweet tea that I can't have anymore.  I had to stop myself from chugging it down in minutes and sipped it so it would last longer. Over the course of the next week I tried a different flavor everyday.  It turns out that my favorites are definitely Original, Lemongrass, and Apple Spice.

It was winter when I tried this tea and I actually heated up the Apple Spice like a spiced cider and it was really good and made me feel all warm and cozy.

Overall, I highly recommend trying these teas, especially if you are looking for something caffeine and sugar free that is good for you and tastes great too!
